Shipyard.

Black or White.

Totally loving this video/song. I have to admit, I never really listened to much of MJ's music except Jackson 5 stuff until now. Anyway, I've been watching a lot of his videos recently and this is my favorite. Macaulay Culkin is totally adorbs with his "loud, louder, are you nuts?" amp and super large wayfarers. Plus, all of the face morphing at the end is rad.

Also, he rocked the band jacket like no other:

NYC Topshop Opening.

Since I was in the UK all year and missed it, I have been reliving the opening of the US Topshop in NYC through this video. Madness, really! I miss the Norwich Topshop loads...

Aerial Photography.

I'm fascinated by the photography of Jason Hawkes. Most of his work is focused on the UK, and consists of patterns found in nature, urban environments, or simply highlights the beauty of major cities.

Stop Motion Lips.

Really awesome video sent to me by my friend, Andrew. I love how creative the video director got with paint!

DEADLINES!

I can't stress my obsession with stop motion enough, but when I saw this video by Jay Tseng and Bang-yao Liu over at Black Eiffel I was completely won over, head over heels. I kind of think this would be a pretty rad way to decorate my dorm room wall when I head back to uni...

de Chirico.

Delights of the Poet, 1913

Piazza de Italia, 1915

Giorgio de Chirico was a Surrealist painter born in Greece. I am a little obsessed with his haunting, classic landscapes. There is something about them that is calming and yet unnerving at the same time. His use of unaligned perspective is probably why the paintings seem so dreamlike. None of the vanishing points line up!

Dirty Projectors.

Just listen. Totally epic.

"Duchamp Reloaded."

Duchamp Reloaded is a project by artist Ji Lee. Essentially, he is doing the opposite of what Marcel Duchamp did in the early 1900s. Instead of taking found objects and constructing them to make art for the museum environment, Lee is taking museum art and placing it into the found environment. Great concept, and I am pretty sure it is safe to say that the Dadaists would agree! I can't wait to see where else he takes this idea.

Piece of My Art.

Made this ages ago, and thought I'd post it. Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I've been settling in at home after studying abroad in Norwich, England for 9 months. It's so odd being back in The States.
