de Chirico.

Delights of the Poet, 1913

Piazza de Italia, 1915

Giorgio de Chirico was a Surrealist painter born in Greece. I am a little obsessed with his haunting, classic landscapes. There is something about them that is calming and yet unnerving at the same time. His use of unaligned perspective is probably why the paintings seem so dreamlike. None of the vanishing points line up!
